A carer is a person who looks after a relative/friend and a care assistant is someone who does it professionally. A care assistant must be trained to at least minimum standard requirements. However both, a carer and a care assistant should have certain personal qualities.

To have the ability to make a person feel cared for a carer must be able to encompass everything that is instumental in making them feel valued, respected and empowered, this is a skill that requires a certain type of person - caring is definately a vocational career.

Hi All

I worked out in the comunity 'Area West for the first time in a long time, and I heard nothing but praise for the staff in that area. Due to all the compliments clients have give I think the carers feel it is a vocation.
